The coronavirus outbreak has caused panic and anxiety in the hearts of Singaporeans, as well as people globally.

Just to give ourselves a sense of proportion: The Sars (severe acute respiratory syndrome) outbreak affected 8,000 people, killed 800 worldwide and lasted about eight months. Although we do not know how widely Covid-19, as the novel coronavirus is called, will spread, we know that viruses come and go, as they have always done in the past.
