Insurance industry's key role in fighting climate change

It can stop insuring polluting industries while helping to drive the shift to renewable energy

At a recent insurance conference in Singapore, a climate scientist gave global industry executives a stark warning.

"Climate change is real and the difference between low emissions and high emissions is not the end of your companies or a lowering of your bottom line: it's the end of civilisation," Professor Benjamin Horton, chair of the Asian School of the Environment at Nanyang Technological University, said in his address.
