A plan by the Health Promotion Board (HPB) to pack more protein into Asian foods sold here could be a game changer in keeping Singaporeans healthier as they age.

A recently released report, The Burden Of Disease In Singapore, 1990-2017, shows that while people here enjoy the longest lifespan in the world, with an average life expectancy of 84.8 years, they also have more unhealthy years. In 1990, people here lived nine years with ill health. By 2017, this had risen to 10.6 years. Much of this comes towards the end of life.
