The new year for me has always started with the lunar cycle, when Chinese New Year begins, rather than the Western Gregorian calendar that most of the world uses, that begins on Jan 1.
So although we are into the end of January, my physical and mental states are not kicking into a new year until Feb 1, which is the first day of the Chinese New Year.
