After nine years of working at SPH Media, I left my job in 2024 to fulfil an aspiration I had since I was 19 years old.

I was in my 30s when I resigned from my job as a Straits Times journalist, and took the leap to becoming a freelance event emcee. I had exited the rat race, while most of my peers were ascending the corporate ladder.
