Jetstar Asia’s handling of refunds in the lead-up to its planned liquidation on July 31, 2025, warrants urgent attention.
I purchased tickets in early June, unaware that Jetstar would announce its closure just three days later, on June 12. I immediately requested a refund, which was acknowledged on June 13. I was told it would be processed within 20 days. On June 16, after submitting my bank details, I was told it would be done within 14 days.
Instead, on July 1, I was informed that the refund would now take at least 30 days – coinciding precisely with Jetstar’s final day of operation. This shifting timeline raises serious concerns. Once Jetstar ceases operations, affected customers may have little or no recourse. I urge regulators to investigate the matter to protect passengers from potential financial loss.
