Poor sleep is detrimental to students’ performance in school and overall mental and physical well-being.
While sleep on regular days is managed by the students themselves and depends on their time management, sleep time during camps and events organised by educational institutions is outside of students’ control. These events often leave little time for sleep.
It is in the students’ best interests for these events to end earlier at night to let students have adequate rest, so as not to affect their academic performance.
One night of poor sleep can jeopardise the overall sleep schedule for a while. Even short-term camps should ideally end early. This is especially so for camps held during the academic calendar.
Outside of certain activities for topics such as astronomy, school events should not keep students up late at night for no good reason.
