Forum: Next time you’re at the beach, take a small bag

I went to the beach recently, expecting sun and a fun day by the sea. Instead, I found plastic bottles, food wrappers and cans scattered across the sand.

Everyone agrees we should protect our planet. Governments, scientists, schools and the United Nations all remind us of this. So why is there still so much rubbish?

I don’t think that people don’t care. I think we all assume someone else will handle it. But if everyone thinks that way, who actually protects our home?

As a member of my school’s Environmental Club, I’ve learnt that protecting the environment isn’t just about big projects. It’s about small daily choices: picking up a discarded bottle, bringing a reusable bag and saying no to unnecessary plastic.

Next time you’re going to the beach, take a small bag. You may not clean the whole shore, but you can pick up a few pieces of rubbish. Every great change begins with one person deciding to care.

Let’s not wait for someone else. Let’s be the reason our home stays beautiful.
