I would like to express my appreciation to West Coast-Jurong West GRC MP Hamid Razak and his team for their prompt response to an issue affecting residents at Block 755 Jurong West Street 74.
Residents raised their concerns on June 26 over a well-used bus stop that had been temporarily relocated farther away along the main road due to the ongoing MRT construction works.
The temporary walking route had neither shelter nor adequate lighting, making it inconvenient and potentially unsafe, especially for seniors, schoolchildren and families. There was no shelter for rainy weather, while the poorly lit pathway raised safety concerns at night.
I was impressed that within two days, temporary sheltered walkways and lighting were installed. These have made the trip to and from the bus stop much safer and comfortable.
I would like to commend our MP and his team for listening to residents’ feedback and acting so quickly.
