We thank Jessline Lim for her letter, “Teens restricted by age limits missing out on govt schemes” (Aug 3). We will bear in mind her feedback as we continue to enhance our efforts in youth development.
The SG Youth Plan includes many other initiatives available for all youth (aged 15 to 35) regardless of birth year. Young people can connect with others at *Scape or one of the other 11 new youth spaces; explore interest-based social activities spanning arts, sports, wellness, culture, technology and lifestyle; and access different career options via Job Tasters or connect with a mentor. These can be found on the Discover portal (discover.nyc.gov.sg), and most are free to participate in.
We hope the writer’s child will find these opportunities meaningful, and we will continue to expand support to help young people build confidence, foster meaningful connections and pursue their aspirations.
