I underwent an eye operation at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) in October 2023, followed by several check-ups at both TTSH and Woodlands Health.
The discharge summary and follow-up medical reports are not available on the HealthHub app. When I requested a copy of a report for insurance purposes, I was surprised to find out that retrieval would cost between $100 and $250.
In this digital age, it is puzzling that such reports and test results are not uploaded automatically to HealthHub accounts for patients to access. These documents pertain to treatments we have already paid for. Why then must patients pay fees just to access their own medical records?
The Ministry of Health should consider making it mandatory for all public hospitals to upload discharge summaries and specialist visit reports to HealthHub. This would empower patients to retrieve their own records without incurring additional charges.
