I am an American visitor to Singapore and I lost my wallet last week on the MRT.

In New York City, where I live, losing a wallet on public transport means only one thing: It is gone forever. Any cash would be lost and credit cards abused.

Not here. On Monday, an MRT employee called saying my wallet was found with all cards and cash in place.
