Support local businesses

Many Singaporeans are heading to Johor Bahru for cheaper goods and services. While it’s true there are good deals there, many products are either the same in price or even more expensive.

And like Malaysia, Singapore also has an incredible variety of delicious dishes.

Instead of spending time and effort making trips across the Causeway, why not support local businesses? By spending locally, we support our own economy and help small businesses thrive.

Ads atop buses cause drag

I have noticed that there are advertisements that pop up above buses.

They create air resistance and lead to higher fuel consumption, especially as these buses run throughout the day.

There’s no incentive for bus companies to reduce fuel consumption and they can make more money from these ads.

We should stop this wastage and have better guidelines regarding these pop-up ads.

Station’s EV charger not working

In the article “

Shell Singapore moves to help fuel profitable energy transition

” (July 19), it was reported that half of Shell’s 57 petrol stations in Singapore now offer electric vehicle (EV) charging points.

But in Tampines, where I live, the charging point has had an “under maintenance” sign for the longest time. Except for the occasional times it worked when it was initially installed, this EV charger has not been functioning.

When I asked about this, the answer was that it “is currently under an internal review”.
