Invite 2 independents to be NMPs
In the recent general election, the performance of the two independents, Mr Jeremy Tan and Mr Darryl Lo, was stellar. Both gentlemen came across as well-spoken, knowledgeable, sensible and rational – traits many Singaporeans find easily acceptable.
It would be beneficial to Singapore if our Government could invite them to be Nominated MPs. This would give them a platform to offer their perspective and speak out on issues (GE2025: Independents Jeremy Tan, Darryl Lo plan to use new-found platforms to speak up on issues, May 6).

Time to curb noise from devices
Besides the noise nuisance disrupting the peace and serenity in public parks (Enjoying East Coast Park when group started to sing loudly near us, May 6), there is that created by commuters watching videos on their devices, increasingly with the sound on.
Despite being annoyed by this blatant disregard for fellow passengers, Singaporeans generally do not confront these people but suffer in silence.
The authorities should address this anti-social behaviour and put up explicit signs prohibiting it. This should be promptly implemented before the situation worsens, as such inconsiderate individuals may become emboldened and potentially play sensitive content like prayers or questionable material loudly on public transport.

Do more to remove scam content
As seen in this Facebook screengrab, there are many scams being promoted on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
I am sure with tools such as artificial intelligence, such advertisements can be tracked and removed.
More needs to be done to penalise platforms that allow such content to be posted.
