Like many around the world, I spent most of my recent free time glued to my screen, often toggling between multiple channels to catch as many Olympic sporting events as possible. There were also many nights when I sacrificed sleep to cheer on my favourite competitors and teams, but I have no regrets.

After all, whether one is an athlete or not, the Olympic Games, with its broad-ranging spectacle of athleticism and ambition across countless different sports, never fail to capture the imagination.
