Dip in MRT satisfaction level must be reversed

The MRT is the backbone of Singapore's public transport system and needs to swiftly win back commuters' support despite the problems associated with fixing glitchy systems.

Last week, the Singapore Management University's Institute of Service Excellence released results of a survey that showed commuters were happier with buses than they were with trains last year.

It was the first time in more than a decade - since the yearly poll started in 2007 - that buses had pipped trains in the satisfaction measure.
