On the morning of Feb 16, the issue of removing bus services that run parallel to MRT lines resurfaced in Parliament.

In an exchange with Workers’ Party MP Gerald Giam (Aljunied GRC), Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said

there would be higher financial costs associated with retaining such bus services.
