June in the United States is Pride Month, the month-long celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community’s culture and history.

But the backlash to Pride Month started even before June, as a string of companies that partnered queer creators on Pride Month promotions became the target of conservative activists.
