Most Singaporeans only vaguely know of cooperative societies, or co-ops, through the giant of them all, the place where they get their food, NTUC FairPrice.

What they might not be so aware of as they load their supermarket trolley is that it is a cooperative of the National Trades Union Congress. And that it is among an array of consumer services and credit co-ops here.
