Chendol and other culture 'wars'

A common history dating back to the 13th century explains the similarities in dance, food and culture among Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.

The popular chendol iced dessert recently became more of a threat than a treat to neighbourly ties.

Bowls clanged, spoons flew and coconut milk and green jelly splattered across the screens of Internet users in Malaysia and Indonesia.
