Bye for now, Comcentre – a landmark in Singapore’s march to the future

As we mourn

the passing of the architectural great Alfred Wong

and celebrate his life and work, attention is drawn inevitably to the landmarks

associated with him

. The National Theatre and Hotel Malaysia swiftly come to mind, grand buildings familiar to many Singaporeans even if they no longer exist.

As we look back fondly, it’s time perhaps to turn our attention to another landmark that meant so much for Singapore – Comcentre.
