A real disrupter in today's business environment is the exponential acceleration of pace, driven by new technologies. Thomas Friedman in his book Thank You For Being Late states that the accelerating pace of technology-driven change has overtaken our ability, as humans, to adapt.
In Asia, there is one other dimension to this disruption - the millennials. According to recent research, millennials make up a quarter of the world's population, and approximately 25 per cent of the workforce in the United States. The "millennial moment", however, may have arrived sooner in Asia than in Europe and the US if statistics (and our interviews with 63 Asia-Pacific leaders of global companies and seven chief executives of Western multinationals headquartered in Asia) bear out.
