As an introvert, I like Singapore for not being overtly friendly

When I read that Singapore was Asia’s second-friendliest city, while another list said it was the world’s fourth-friendliest city, the introvert in me thought anxiously: “I hope it’s not true.”

We don’t often randomly say hello to strangers in the streets, or leave eateries and trains with best friends we’ve just met there. It may seem at first blush negative, but here’s why I am fond of Singapore for not being overtly friendly.
