Jasper Tsang: A pro-Beijing, moderate politician

Born in 1947 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, Mr Jasper Tsang Yok-sing moved to Hong Kong with his family when he was two years old.

He studied mathematics at the University of Hong Kong, graduating with first-class honours in 1968. He had the opportunity to further his studies in the United States but instead chose to teach at the leftist Pui Kiu Middle School where he rose to be its principal in 1986.
