Hands up, all those who nearly choked on their breakfast when they read in this newspaper that South Korean President Moon Jae In said his American counterpart deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the stand-off with Pyongyang over its nuclear weapons programme.

Mr Moon's remarks came in response to a message from Ms Lee Hee Ho, widow of a predecessor, president Kim Dae Jung, congratulating him for last Friday's successful summit with the North Korean leader, Mr Kim Jong Un.
