The stars are out in New York City, as the National Basketball Association (NBA) basketballers descend upon Madison Square Garden for the All-Star Weekend festivities.

They were out in force on Friday at a Manhatten hotel entertaining hundreds of journalists during the NBA All-Star Game Media Day.

More than 1,800 media are covering the NBA All-Star weekend, including a record 534 international media from 52 countries -more than double last year's total of 265 in New Orleans.

The All-Star weekend features a record 16 international players in a season when a record 101 foreign players were on NBA rosters.

Straits Times correspondent Sanjay Nair was present at the Media Day proceedings. Here are some videos he took of the All-Stars fielding media questions.
