SINGAPORE - OCBC Bank has upgraded its digital capabilities by putting in place a tablet system for its staff.
The system, which includes 250 tablets and the necessary software, cost about $5 million, the bank said in a press release on Tuesday.
It said the latest upgrade would allow its staff to perform "more banking services that were once tied to desks or counters at branches ... at any place of the customer's choosing".
OCBC issued the 250 tablets to its front-line sales staff at its 52 bank branches here.
It said that over the next few months, it would make all 22 of the bancassurance products it offers available via the tablets.
Bancassurance is the sale of insurance products through banks.
Investment products such as unit trusts will be made available for application via the tablets in the second half of this year, it added.
