SINGAPORE - Catch up with the hottest topics on The Straits Times' weekday talk show.

The Big Story, broadcast every weekday at 5.30pm on Facebook and YouTube, has reporters and senior editors discussing the top stories of the day, in the heart of the newsroom.

Helmed by multimedia journalist Dylan Ang, the episode airs live from ST's digital studio.

On Friday's (Nov 15) episode, political correspondent Linette Lai will talk about Workers' Party chief Pritam Singh's remarks that a united opposition is challenging in practice.

Next, education correspondent Amelia Teng will share more about the plans by the National University of Singapore to offer courses through online portal edX.

Lastly, STfood online editor Hedy Khoo will discuss the topic of "handsome hawkers", ahead of an ST feature for the weekend on five good-looking hawkers.

In a new segment of the show called #WhatsTrending, multimedia journalist Kimberly Jow will share more on the stories that are trending on the Internet.

On Friday's segment, she will talk about the e-scooter ban, a puppy with a tail growing out of his forehead, and the two veterinary nurses who have been suspended after they were caught on camera behaving inappropriately with animals.

Topics covered in previous episodes include the latest updates on the Trump impeachment hearings, Singapore's new national AI strategy, and how Singapore can better cope with its ageing population.
