SINGAPORE - Catch up on the hottest topics on The Straits Times' weekday talk show.

The Big Story, broadcast every weekday at 5.30pm on Facebook and YouTube, has reporters and senior editors discussing the top stories of the day.

The show is helmed by multimedia correspondent Hairianto Diman and assistant video editor Olivia Quay, and airs live from ST's digital studio.

According to a post-election survey by the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), jobs and the cost of living weighed heavily on Singaporeans' minds as they headed to the polls in July this year amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Political diversity was also a key consideration among the country's younger and better-educated voters.

Across all age groups, there was a slide in the proportion of people who thought the ruling People's Action Party was credible, while the opposite was true for the opposition Workers' Party.

We will speak to the team who conducted the survey, which includes IPS deputy director of research and senior research fellow Gillian Koh as well as IPS Social Lab post-doctoral fellow Teo Kay Key.

Meanwhile, on this week's Life Picks, food critic Wong Ah Yoke and senior culture correspondent Ong Sor Fern will share a couple of places to check out over the weekend.
