The Big Story, broadcast every weekday at 5.30pm on Facebook and YouTube, has reporters and senior editors discussing the top stories of the day, in the heart of the newsroom.

Helmed by multimedia correspondent Hairianto Diman, the episode airs live from ST's digital studio.

In Friday's (Dec 6) episode, Malaysia bureau chief Shannon Teoh will talk about the chaos that broke out at Malaysia's Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) youth congress, and the tensions between the two warring factions despite an earlier truce.

Deputy political editor Royston Sim will then discuss whether the new railway tunnel to be constructed 70m below the Central Catchment Nature Reserve can be done safely, though the tunnel would be deeper underground than usual.
