The Big Story: Budget 2020 debate begins; Inter-agency task force against family violence; S'pore-made coronavirus test

SINGAPORE - Catch up with the hottest topics on The Straits Times' (ST) weekday talk show.

The Big Story, broadcast every weekday at 5.30pm on Facebook and YouTube, has reporters and senior editors discussing the top stories of the day, in the heart of the newsroom.

Helmed by multimedia journalist Dylan Ang and assistant video editor Olivia Quay, the show airs live from ST's digital studio.

We will kick off Wednesday's episode (Feb 26) with news editor Zakir Hussain, who will talk about the start of the Budget debate in Parliament, which will see MPs coming together for nine days.

Senior parliamentary secretary for Home affairs Sun Xueling will then discuss the new inter-agency task force, which aims to address violence in families by raising public awareness.

Senior health correspondent Salma Khalik will then shed light on the serological tests which has helped the Health Ministry to establish a missing link between the two church clusters - Grace Assembly of God and The Life Church and Missions.

To end off the show, China correspondent Elizabeth Law will talk about shutting down China's wildlife farming industry and what this will mean.
