Love is in the air

It is said that when you are in love, your heart beats faster and your blood pressure goes up.

But the folks in Thailand seem to have taken the phenomenon a step further.

Four newly-wed couples on Saturday had to go through some heart-pumping challenges, such as flying through the air in an "aerial wedding" and racing down a "runway of love", supposedly to demonstrate how much they would go through for each other.

Among those who put their love to the test was groom Kasemsak Jiranantiporn, who held on to his bride Duangruethai Amnuayweroj for dear life - both his and hers - while whizzing through the air on a zip line, or flying fox.

The event, called Thailand Adventure Wedding 2016, was part of the Valentine's Day celebrations in Suan Phueng district, Ratchaburi province.

Valentine's Day is widely celebrated in Thailand, with events organised across the country to mark the special occasion.
