Visitors flocked to the new World Trade Center Transportation Hub, which was unveiled to the public after nearly 12 years of construction. The new transportation hub was partially opened on Thursday (March 3) after years of delays and disputes over ballooning costs. The transit hub, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, resembles a monumental steel rib cage and the wings of a bird. It will serve as a transfer point between subways and commuter train lines with a shopping centre and a pedestrian tunnel.
