In Pictures: The trail of destruction left by Hurricane Ophelia
Ophelia, the largest hurricane ever recorded so far east in the Atlantic Ocean and the furthest north since 1939, has left three dead. The tropical storm battered Ireland on Monday (Oct 16), knocking down trees and power lines and whipping up 10-m waves. Over 370,000 homes and businesses were without electricity in the Republic of Ireland at some point.
