In Pictures: New Delhi chokes as thick smog blankets India's capital city
New Delhi is now one of the planet's most polluted cities as a layer of thick smog grips the Indian capital. Pollution levels have skyrocketed in recent days as the city struggles with one of the worst spells of air pollution in recent years. The authorities have closed more than 5,000 schools, ordering a three-day shutdown for the safety of students.
