In Pictures: Filipinos head to the polls for the Philippine General Election 2016
Millions of Filipinos flocked to election centres all over the Philippines on Monday (May 9) to pick the successors of outgoing Philippine President Benigno Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay. The future President will be decided from a pool of five candidates, Mayor of Davao City, Rodrigo Duterte, often referred to as the 'Trump of the East' currently heads opinion polls. There will also be elections for more than 18,000 regional and local positions.
