Helping hand for daily chores

Amputee athlete Robert Radocy demonstrating how well he can tackle everyday chores such as slicing bread with his prosthetic arm.

He took the gold in the Powered Arm Prosthesis Race, as a member of Team DIPO Power from the Netherlands, at the world's first Cybathlon, held in Zurich on Saturday.

Individuals with physical disabilities competed side by side in six demanding disciplines, using the latest assistive devices.

Organised by ETH Zurich, or the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, the event provides a platform for the development of novel assistive technologies useful for daily life.
