Battling it out at the harbour

The Australian and Italian water polo teams in action during the Water Polo by the Sea event at Sydney Harbour in Australia last Saturday.

The two teams, among the top- ranked in men's water polo, played an exhibition match at Campbell's Cove at the harbour.

With the spectacular Sydney Opera House as a backdrop, spectators watched as the teams battled it out. Italy won 14-10.

The Italians are using the exhibition games to prepare for the European Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, next month.

The championships are also their chance to qualify for the Rio Olympics, which will be held next August.

Meanwhile, the Australians will have their second training camp in their Rio Olympics preparation after beating Japan 3-0 in a recent test match held in Cronulla, Sydney.
