Wrist Taker

Who: Ms Sabrina Goh, 40, manager of Venue by Sebastian. The new restaurant, helmed by her chef husband Sebastian Ng, recently opened at Downtown Gallery in Shenton Way. The couple used to front the award-winning Restaurant Ember at Hotel 1929.

What I'm wearing: Xiaomi Band 2

How much I paid for it: $38 on Lazada last year

Why I like it: I got this as a birthday gift for Sebastian because he wanted a step-tracker for his daily fitness routine. He didn't really use it, so I starting using it.

Before that, I was wearing a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust, which is also his.

He felt it was a bit too small for his wrist and asked me to wear it to keep the movement ticking.

It is a nice watch, but I really like the Xiaomi Band 2 because it tells me how many steps I take a day. Work is exercise to me now.

Since Venue opened, I've been logging at least 20,000 steps and burning more than 600 calories a day. We took a three-year break after Ember, during which I didn't exercise much.

The watch is also handy because our new restaurant doesn't have a clock and I need to keep track of when the last order is.

It's also fuss-free. Once fully charged, it keeps going for two weeks.
