Why I want my kids to read the newspapers

Reading a physical copy of the papers encourages discussion and analysis of the news and this can help immunise people against fake news

I prefer my kids reading the newspaper to them reading their school textbooks.

As I have written in previous columns, the focus we have at home is not on academics, but encouraging the family to be aware of what is happening around the world.
