Madam Tan Lay Hwa, 70, has eaten lobster in Boston, marvelled at a surreal Gaudi villa in northern Spain and picked the sweetest peaches on a Japanese farm - all in the company of celebrities.
Her favourite was a light-hearted Hokkaido jaunt led in 2010 by television host Quan Yifeng, who remembered the globetrotter from a tour she had led just months earlier to the dreamy lakes of Jiuzhaigou in China. Quan hugged the auntie traveller and called out: "Hwa jie!" (Elder sister Hwa.)
