Sailor Moon and Final Fantasy in line-up for Universal Studios' Universal Cool Japan 2018

(THE JAKARTA POST) Osaka's Universal Studios Japan theme park has announced the line-up for its Universal Cool Japan programme next year, featuring renowned Japanese anime and video games Final Fantasy, Detective Conan (also known as Case Closed), Monster Hunter, and Sailor Moon.

The theme park's official announcement, available only on the theme park's Japanese website page at the time of publishing, showcases images of anime and video game characters such as Usagi Tsukino from Sailor Moon and Conan Edogawa from Detective Conan, as well as Cloud Strife, the main protagonist from Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII.

The fourth edition of the Universal Cool Japan programme, which runs until June 24 next year will feature Final Fantasy, Detective Conan and Monster Hunter in its Volume 1 series that opens on Jan 19, while the Sailor Moon attraction will open for the programme's spring season.

Held since 2015, Universal Cool Japan is an annual programme featuring Japanese entertainment brands that have gone global.

According to, previous editions of the programme have allowed visitors to enter the realms of animes Neon Genesis Evangelion and Attack on Titan, and video game Resident Evil, as well as classic TV series Godzilla.
