Ipoh has all the ingredients for an ideal weekend getaway. Street food is cheap and delicious, the flight is slightly more than an hour long, and the pace is laid-back enough to come back feeling rested from your holiday.

While the capital of Perak has often been overlooked in favour of its flashier neighbour, Penang, Ipoh is fast gaining popularity among Singaporean travellers.
