American luggage manufacturer Samsonite has launched a Luggage Trade-In Initiative in support of Make-A-Wish Singapore, a charity which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.

Until March 12, trade in old luggage - of any brand and size - and receive up to 40 per cent off a new suitcase from Samsonite's S'Cure and Pixelon collections.

For every trade-in purchase, $10 will go to Make-A-Wish Singapore. The pre-loved luggage will be given to the beneficiaries and their families.

The trade-in can be done at Samsonite retail stores, department stores and online at and leading e-commerce marketplaces.

Tickets for SilkAir flights from Singapore to Broome, Australia, are now on sale.

The four return trial flights to the beach resort town in north-western Australia will operate on May 22, 26 and 29 and June 2. They will reduce the 10.5-hour flight time on the current route, which requires a transit in Perth, to four hours.

The flights will depart from Changi Airport at 10.30am and from Broome at 4pm the same day.

They allows travellers to explore Broome and the wild expanse of the Kimberley region of Western Australia for four, seven or 11 nights.

Tourism Western Australia has partnered with Singapore travel agencies, including Chan Brothers Travel and Dynasty Travel International, to create itineraries and promotional packages that start at $1,288 a person.
