Travel enriches your life and stretches your mind in ways you’d never imagined.
When you globetrot as a member of any of Star Alliance’s 21 frequent flyer programmes, you are entitled to a host of privileges.
Member carriers of Star Alliance, an extensive global aviation network comprising 28 airlines that is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, include Singapore Airlines, SWISS, Lufthansa, All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Thai Airways International — each with its own exclusive style of service.
Here are some perks Star Alliance offers its members:
1. A million miles up for grabs — 21 winners
Stand a chance to win a million miles when you join a global competition inspired by the theme “Connecting People and Cultures”. Simply upload a photo of your best cultural travel experience, and describe where you took it and why it is special.
Where will a million miles take you? You could possibly opt for:
• Two First Class Around the World Reward — jet set in luxury with your partner in first class cabins.
• Five Economy Class Round the World tickets — treat four friends and yourself to vacations you’ll never forget.
Terms and conditions apply.
The competition ends on July 31. Winners will be announced on Sept 28.

Being part of any one Star Alliance frequent flyer programme entitles you to redeem perks from any member carrier. *As a frequent flyer, you would be able to redeem attractive perks such as upgrades on class of service, or book award tickets where accumulated mileage and points serve as “payment”, and many more, for any one of the member carriers.
*Terms and conditions apply to each frequent flyer programme
3. Widespread network of over 18,400 daily departures at 1,300 airports across 191 countries
Minimise waiting time between connecting flights with convenient arrival and departure times optimised between member airlines.
Passengers of member carriers can expect seamless flight transfers at selected airports. For instance, at London’s Heathrow Airport and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport, there are common ticketing and check-in counters, as well as lounges, baggage facilities and other services.
4. Privileges across 140 locations and in 1,000 airport lounges
Being a Star Alliance Gold Status member entitles you to additional baggage allowance, plus priority access for check-ins, security clearances, boarding and baggage handling.
