The 'granny' who became my piano teacher

I got to know Elaine Wu late in her life, and was moved by the music of a highly talented pianist forced to till the land during the Cultural Revolution

Almost a decade ago, I hosted a dinner party at my mother's house for my dear friend, the virtuoso pianist Stephen Hough, who was performing with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra at the Esplanade that weekend.

Stephen has performed in Singapore multiple times over the last 20 years, returning every or every other year as piano aficionados here cannot get enough of his talent. His repertoire is extensive and we all love his incredible touch and sensitive interpretations.
