Once a month, consultant Lynn Tan meets her friends at a coffee shop in Peninsula Shopping Centre to chat about stamps.

The 42-year-old is one of the rare female faces in the stamp-collecting community in Singapore, which consists largely of male collectors. But that did not stop her from joining the Singapore Stamp Club - the oldest such club here established in 1940 - a few years ago to meet fellow hobbyists.
