Style News: Nars and Urban Decay launch first cushion compacts

French cosmetics label Nars and American make-up brand Urban Decay have jumped on the cushion compact bandwagon with their versions of the trendy foundation product.

Nars' first cushion, the Aqua Glow Cushion Foundation ($68, above), offers medium-buildable coverage with a radiant finish.

The foundation contains SPF 23 and a hydrating formula that the label says helps the skin to retain water.

The lightweight formula also contains a light reflecting complex which the label says helps to enhance overall radiance by reflecting light like a prism. The cushion compact comes in a sleek case with a matte black finish.

Over at Urban Decay, the label's first cushion compact comes in an eye-catching iridescent and metallic lavender case.

The Naked Skin Glow Cushion Compact Foundation (case, $19, refill, $40) has a lightweight formula that creates long-lasting buildable coverage with a luminous finish.

It also offers sun protection with SPF 50+ PA+++ and contains skin-nourishing ingredients such as rose centifolia flower extract and peppermint extract, which the label says help tone and firm the skin.

The Nars Aqua Glow Cushion Foundation is available in six shades at Nars outlets at Ngee Ann City, Tangs at Tang Plaza, Tangs VivoCity and Robinsons The Heeren.

The Urban Decay Naked Skin Glow Cushion Compact Foundation is available in six shades at Urban Decay counters from next Thursday.
