It was the last round of the ST170 Treats and Mrs Ang May Lee, a long-time subscriber of The Straits Times, decided to try her luck and take part in the giveaway for the first time.

The 43-year-old senior payroll executive ended up winning a two- night staycation for two at luxurious Capella Singapore on Sentosa.

ST170 Treats is an initiative that the newspaper has been holding since February to give treats to readers in celebration of its 170th anniversary.

The mother of two will be spending the staycation with her husband, Mr Ricky Ng, 48, a business manager at a mall.

She says: "I'm very happy and excited to see what's in store. It's crazy to think how lucky I am to win out of all the people who participated.

"I also feel this is a great way for ST to give back to readers, especially after it has achieved the great milestone of reaching 170 years as a publication. These initiatives will encourage people to read more."

Ms Ang's prize is worth $3,760 and consists of a two-night stay in a one-bedroom Garden Villa, which includes breakfast for two.

In the last round of treats, which started on Dec 1, there is a chance to win a trip to Zanzibar, Tanzania, for two worth $13,768.

To enter, go to 1845.straitstimes.com and answer a simple question before the contest closes at noon on Tuesday.
