Some hair salons are upping the ante by offering meals, alcohol and photo opportunities to go with hair and nail services
Every three to four months, dentist Clarissa Tangets her hair trimmed, coloured and treated at the salon.
As she usually spends up to four hours there each time, the 28-year-old would read a book or watch a Netflix show on her iPad to kill time. But at her last hair appointment this month, she found herself captivated by an eye-catching holographic projection of jellyfish on a dark wall while getting her hair washed.
